Participatory Workshop
Ok so it says:
"Develop a participatory workshop script that details the activities, instructions and objectives and implement the workshop. The workshop should typically last between 1.5 - 2 hours and involve between 4-6 participants. Be sure to video and still document your workshop and summarize the outcomes and findings.
Summary: Design and conduct a participatory workshop"
I'm thinking I can just set up a bunch of playdoh and shapes on a table at home and make some video clips and take pictures of them (my brother and these 2 friends in the pic below who can be fake highschoolers). good enough???

Here's the link: http://www.sfu.ca/~jasonn/test/Journey Framework 1.ai
Here's the PDF: http://www.sfu.ca/~jasonn/test/Journey Framework 1.pdf
Here is my FTP space again if you guys need a reminder
P.S. I may have caught a cold, so if possible, could someone else please present for me? I can attend, I just might SUCK at presenting today.
PS. Are the storyboards done? We really need them for the 2 minute madness?

Storyboard
Hey team,
As the team Creative, Andy we were wondering if you could please roughly draw what is taking place in this order of frames.. It can be done by hand on paper.
| heads to a machine (tredmill) | completes 15 min & cubey responds (with sound & light) to say so | cubey gains points and lists next steps | cubey glows as it connects with another cubey |
| cubey makes a friend | satisfied with working out leaves gym | goes home and connects cubey to internet | sees updated cubey profile and new friends' |

finding
My participant is a friend of friend of mine, Johnny Meng grade 11. I’ve seen him a few times before, so there wasn’t too much trouble while opening up the conversation. I asked him to do the probe for me but some of the probes weren’t printed out so I just asked him to tell me what he would do if he actually got the object. He described himself as 60 kg and 167cm tall, which seems to be honest. The self portrait he did was rather masculine which might indicate how he wants himself to look like.
The magazine I gave him included Times, People Magazine, Ultimate Racing, and Gaming world. He did not seem to have too much interest in commenting on the magazine because it was too much work to go through all the magazines and write down the comments. However, he did show some interest in the gaming magazine and start to talk to me about some of the games that he’s been playing lately.
As for the map, the places that he goes for food are a few bubble tea place located near his high school. Most of which are just one to two blocks away from his high school. Other places like McDonalds and Subways are also his choice of food. All of the places are near his school area. However he only goes to these places about once every two weeks. Other time he eats at home or brings food from home to school. The places he usually goes to for leisure activities are internet cafes, and movies, which are all located in Richmond and took around 30 min of busing. Otherwise he would just stay home and watch TV.
The note book I told him to bring it to school and I haven’t got it back yet, I’ll take picture of it and post it up if he returned it to me soon.

Results from Shawn Dhaliwal
Shawn is in grade 10
Here is what he did with the scale. So he believes he's almost 150lb but he didnt draw too many muscles so that shows some modesty.

Here is what he did with the magazine that he chose as his favourite from a pile of sports illustrateds.
He says he wishes to be 6'11" which is very tall. This could be because he grew up as a baby of the house and wishes to go from being the smallest one to the tallest. He also says that it's cool how all these players are being compared and the variety is being shown. That shows some appreciation.

This tells us that the big football game is an exciting thing to him.

He's being observant here by noticing the direction of all of the audience and players' eyes

here he shows a little knowledge which he uses to make an opinion while comparing two players. then he shows some self confidence (perhaps OVER self confidence) by comparing himself to them for the future.
Here he shows an interest in cars

Here he shows that he is amazed by the ability of people to predict outcomes involving sports teams.
For the map, there were a few food places near his high school that he spotted such as tim hortons, subway and taco del mar which are all about 3 blocks from the school. Near home he spotted mcdonalds which is about 5 blocks away. He is willing to go here by foot about once a week.
For activities/other places he visits, he spotted the UPS Store which is 8 blocks from his school and he walks to after school occasionally. Near home spotted a friend's house or aunts house where he bikes to and are both about 15 blocks away
